يسر مهرجان الجونة السينمائي، بالتعاون مع مؤسسة ساويرس للتنمية الاجتماعية، الشريك الداعم للأثر، وبالشراكة مع المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، أن يعلن عن استضافة النجمة العالمية، الممثلة والمنتجة وسفيرة النوايا الحسنة للمفوضية، كيت بلانشيت، كضيفة شرف في الدورة الثامنة للمهرجان، التي ستُقام في الفترة من 16 إلى 24 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول المقبل في مدينة الجونة. بلانشيت، الحائزة على جائزتي أوسكار، تتمتع بحضور عالمي لافت سواء في مجال السينما أو العمل الإنساني. وتحت شعار المهرجان الدائم "السينما من أجل الإنسانية" والتزامه بتعزيز التبادل الثقافي والتأثير المجتمعي، يفتخر مهرجان الجونة باستقبالها للمشاركة في فعاليات خاصة ضمن برنامج هذا العام.
تمتد المسيرة الفنية الاستثنائية لكيت بلانشيت لتؤكد موهبتها الفريدة وعمقها كممثلة. فقد نالت إشادة واسعة عن أدوارها في أفلام مثل "إليزابيث - Elizabeth"، "كارول - Carol "، و "تار-Tàr"، إلى جانب فوزها بجائزتي أوسكار عن دوريها في فيلمي "الطيار - Aviator" و"بلو جاسمين - Blue Jasmine" كما تميّزت في المسرح وشغلت منصب المديرة الفنية المشاركة لفرقة سيدني ثياتر كومباني، وهي أيضًا الشريكة المؤسسة لشركة الإنتاج "Dirty Films" التي حققت نجاحًا كبيرًا بإنتاج أعمال سينمائية وتلفزيونية حصدت جوائز مرموقة.
لا يقتصر حضور بلانشيت في المهرجان على إنجازاتها الفنية والإنتاجية فحسب، بل يمتد إلى نشاطها الإنساني. فمنذ عام 2016، شغلت منصب السفيرة العالمية للنوايا الحسنة للمفوضية السامية لشؤون اللاجئين، حيث سخّرت منصتها لرفع الوعي العالمي حول قضايا اللاجئين وحشد الدعم لهم، لتصبح صوتًا مدركًا وملتزمًا بقضايا النازحين حول العالم. وقد قامت برحلات ميدانية إلى مخيمات اللاجئين والمجتمعات المستضيفة في الأردن ولبنان وبنغلاديش وجنوب السودان والنيجر والبرازيل، حيث استمعت إلى قصص اللاجئين وسلّطت الضوء على الحاجة الماسة إلى الدعم. وفي عام 2018، تم تكريمها بجائزة الكريستال من المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي تقديرًا لجهودها.
تقديرًا لالتزامها برفع الوعي حول قضايا النزوح القسري، سيقوم مهرجان الجونة السينمائي بمنح كيت بلانشيت جائزة "بطل الإنسانية" في فعالية خاصة ضمن برنامج المهرجان. وفي اليوم التالي، ستشارك كيت بلانشيت في جلسة حوارية ملهمة بعنوان ضمن فعاليات ملتقى سيني جونة، تستعرض فيها رحلتها الفنية والإنسانية، وتحاورها في هذه الجلسة سفيرة النوايا الحسنة وزميلتها الإعلامية اللبنانية البارزة ريا أبي راشد.
من جانبه قال عمرو منسي، المؤسس والمدير التنفيذي لمهرجان الجونة السينمائي: "يشرفنا للغاية أن نستقبل فنانة بحجم وقيمة كيت بلانشيت في مهرجان الجونة السينمائي. لقد أسرت موهبتها الاستثنائية قلوب الجماهير لعقود، كما أن التزامها بالقضايا الإنسانية من خلال عملها مع المفوضية السامية لشؤون اللاجئين مصدر إلهام حقيقي. إن زيارتها، وخاصة الفعالية الخيرية بالشراكة مع المفوضية ومؤسسة ساويرس، تجسد تماماً رسالة المهرجان الأساسية المتمثلة في توظيف قوة السينما لإحداث تغيير إيجابي ودعم الإنسانية."
وبدورها قالت الدكتورة حنان حمدان، ممثلة المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، أضاف: "نحن ممتنون للغاية لانضمام كيت بلانشيت إلينا في مهرجان الجونة السينمائي للدفاع عن قضية اللاجئين. إن التزامها الراسخ وصوتها المؤثر كانا وما زالا عاملين أساسيين في تسليط الضوء على التحديات التي يواجهها ملايين النازحين حول العالم. إن وجودها في هذا الحدث سيعزز بلا شك رسالتنا ويساعدنا على جمع الأموال الحيوية لتقديم المساعدة اللازمة لمن هم في أزمة. إنه لشرف حقيقي أن تكون شريكة لنا في هذا العمل الإنساني المهم."

El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) in collaboration with its Impact Partner, Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD), and UNHCR are honored to announce the internationally acclaimed actor, producer and UNHCR Global Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett as the guest of honor at its upcoming edition, taking place from October 16 to 24, 2025. A two-time Academy Award winner, Blanchett has an international presence in both film and humanitarianism. With its chosen theme of "Cinema for Humanity" and its dedication to fostering cultural exchange and social impact, the GFF is proud to welcome her for special events at this year’s festival.
Cate Blanchett’s remarkable career stands as a testament to her extraordinary range and depth as an actress. From her acclaimed performances in Elizabeth, Carol and Tàr, to her Academy Award roles in The Aviator and Blue Jasmine, she has consistently earned critical acclaim. She is celebrated for her stage career and served as co-artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company and is also co-founder and partner of her own production company, Dirty Films, with numerous producing credits for award winning film and television productions.
Blanchett's presence at GFF extends beyond her numerous accomplishments as an artist and producer. Since 2016, she has served as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. Through her role, she has utilized her platform to raise global awareness of refugee issues and mobilize action, becoming a deeply informed and thoughtful advocate for displaced people worldwide. She has undertaken missions to refugee camps and host communities in Jordan, Lebanon, Bangladesh, South Sudan, Niger and Brazil to listen to stories and highlight the urgent need for support. In 2018, she was recognized for her work with the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum.
In recognition of her commitment to raising awareness on issues of forced displacement, GFF will be presenting Blanchett with the "Champion of Humanity award". The following day, at the CineGouna Forum, Blanchett will share insights into her humanitarian endeavors and artistic journey in an inspiring “In Conversation” with fellow Goodwill Ambassador and renowned Lebanese television personality Raya Abirached.
