قررت إدارة مهرجان الجونة السينمائي، ضمّ الفيلم المنتظر "وداعًا جوليا" إلى قائمة الأفلام التي ستتألّف منها الدورة السادسة المقرر إقامتها من 12 إلى 20 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2023، في مدينة الجونة الشهيرة بجمالها وتطورها ودعمها الدائم لمشهد الثقافة والفنون.
"وداعًا جوليا" الفيلم الذي سيُعرض بعد أيام في مهرجان كانّ السينمائي (قسم "نظرة ما")، هو باكورة الأعمال الروائية الطويلة للمخرج السوداني محمّد كردفاني، ويسر مهرجان الجونة أن يقدمّه للجمهور في عرضه الشرق الأوسطي والشمال الأفريقي الأول، وذلك في إطار مشروعه لدعم الثقافة والفنون.
يصوّرالفيلم حكاية منى، مغنية متقاعدة من شمال السودان، تتستّر على جريمة قتل، قبل أن تحاول إصلاح حياتها مستضيفةً جوليا، وهي أرملة قتيل من جنوب السودان، في منزلها.
يقول مدير المهرجان انتشال التميمي في هذا الصدد: "عرض "وداعًا جوليا" في الجونة هذا العام يغمرنا بالسعادة. محمّد كردفاني مخرج موهوب وقد أنجز فيلمًا قويًا يدعو إلى التفكير، سيتردد صداه إلى المشاهدين في جميع أنحاء العالم. يسعدنا أن نعرضه لجمهورنا ونكون جزءًا من رحلته".
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن المخرج السوداني أمجد أبو العلاء الذي أنتج "وداعًا جوليا"، هو الفائز بجائزة "أسد المستقبل" في مهرجان البندقية 2019 عن فيلمه "ستموت في العشرين". وكان شهد عرضه الشرق الأوسطي والشمال الأفريقي الأول في الجونة، قبل أن يفوز بجائزة "النجمة الذهبية"، في ختام الدورة الثالثة. في مناسبة اختيار الفيلم، قال أبو العلاء: "تسعدني العودة إلى مهرجان الجونة مع "وداعًا جوليا". محمّد كردفاني مخرج قدير جداً. فيلمه عن التجربة الإنسانية. نتطلّع إلى مشاركته مع المشاهدين في المنطقة، مقدّرين دعم المهرجان لنا".
شركة "ماد سوليوشنز" ستتولّى تسويق "وداعًا جوليا" وتوزيعه، وهي إحدى أكبر شركات التوزيع الهادفة إلى توفير منصّة لصانعي الأفلام العرب وغير العرب من المستقلّين والحائزين على جوائز، والذين تواجه أعمالهم تحدّيات كبيرة للوصول إلى المشاهدين خارج نطاق المهرجانات.

مهرجان الجونة السينمائي:

Goodbye Julia to have its MENA Premiere at the 6th El Gouna Film Festival, Egypt

The highly anticipated film Goodbye Julia, written and directed by Mohamed Kordofani, will have its MENA premiere at the 6th edition of the El Gouna Film Festival (GFF). The festival is scheduled to take place from October 12 to 20, 2023 in the resort town of El Gouna, Egypt.
Goodbye Julia is a compelling story about Mona, a retired north Sudanese singer who after covering up a murder, tries to make amends by taking in the deceased’s south Sudanese widow, Julia, and her son, Daniel, into her home. The film has already received significant attention in the industry and is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May 2023.
El Gouna Film Festival is proud to host the MENA premiere of Goodbye Julia.

Amjad Abu Alala is the producer of Goodbye Julia, his directorial feature debut, You will Die at 20, won the Lion of the Future award for Best First Feature at the Venice Days and had its MENA premiere at El Gouna Film Festival where it won the El Gouna Gold Star for Best Film.
